Bickley Park School, Kent, took 32 students – aged 11 to 13 – to Italy to gain relevant knowledge and enhance their understanding of volcanoes, in preparation for their Common Entrance Geography exam.
As part of the trip the boys visited Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius and the Island of Capri. The excursions offered the students the chance to see the environmental and human effects and responses to volcanic activity.
The children also experienced a pizza-making class and visited a Mozzarella farm (pictured) so they were able to learn about traditions and obviously enjoy the local delicacies.
