Royal day
HRH The Princess Royal attended The Royal School, Surrey, at the end of last term to celebrate the achievements and endeavours of pupils over the last academic year. The then Princess Anne succeeded her Uncle, Lord Mountbatten of Burma, as President of the School in 1975. She has been a regular visitor to the School which is very proud of its Royal connections beginning with Queen Victoria, a founder donor, in 1840.
The School’s expansion to educate boys within the diamond structure means it is one of only eight schools in the country where pupils bene t academically from single-sex classes at key points in their learning.
Roedean has been providing education for girls for over 130 years.
The new Roedean Group provides a exible partnership model which provides strategic leadership and expertise, staff training and mentoring, and investment to schools that share a commitment to Roedean’s educational vision.
Oliver Blond, Executive Head of the Roedean Group of Schools and Headmaster of Roedean, said: ‘We look forward to working with staff and pupils at Moira House and Deepdene, sharing in the increased opportunities for shared training and development. Together, the Roedean Group
of Schools will provide an academically strong provision across a wider geographical area for the bene t of a greater number of pupils in the region.’

Jill Hill, Chair of Governors at Moira House, said: ‘This move ensures that Moira House
will thrive long-term, and maintain its position as a local and international school that continues to create a stimulating environment in which pupils want to learn through excellent teaching, where they take responsibility for their own learning, both in the classroom
and outside of it, and achieve the very best results of which they are capable, in the spirit of the School’s founding principles.’

the announcement today is recognition of the bene ts that both Schools have been able to enjoy over this period. Deepdene School will continue to be an independent school, developing and delivering its own aims,

Gold Standard Testing for
Independent Schools
Since their launch in 2008, Password online tests have been used for accurate and reliable “gold standard” English language and maths assessment. The tests, designed by experts and aligned to international standards, are used overseas to facilitate student recruitment and admission, and in the UK for screening on arrival.
Password tests are secure, simple to administer and deliver accurate results which can be relied upon for admission to secondary education and to GCSE, A level and IB programmes. The tests are delivered by our partner schools’ own staff and trusted representatives, or by the British Council, wherever and whenever required. Test delivery, results and certi cates are all managed online eliminating the need for sending papers and scripts backwards and forwards, marking, and subsequent data input.
